AVOID AT ALL COST. We paid astronomical money on a busy night in London to stay at Britannia Hotel Ilford, but on arrival we were told, without any warning or explanation, that we would actually be staying at Park Hotel, a 2-star "sister hotel." No apology, no choice—just a piece of paper with another address and instructions to walk there with our luggage. The room wasn't even in the hotel itself but in a separate building. We entered in an horrendous room with a strong sewage smell, as hot as a sauna, visible mold, a filthy stained mattress and pillows, poor hygiene all the way and an unsecured entrance that made us feel unsafe. When we complained, the staff was acting everything was normal. To make matters worse, they still placed a £100 pre-authorisation on our card. This felt like a clear bait-and-switch: advertise a hotel, then relocate guests to inferior accommodation after they've paid. We have photos documenting everything , this practice they are abusing of, will someday lead them to court.

DO NOT BOOK HERE Didn't get chance to visit this hotel as they cancelled my booking without warning. I booked this hotel months and months ago so not a recent booking. They didn't let me fix the issue they had before they resold my room probably for more money, leaving me and my husband without a room for the weekend at short notice. Losing us money as we booked the room for a full weekend away for a concert to say im fuming is an understatement. Staff weren't helpful at all. Lied they tried saying they send a message 2 weeks prior which they didn't as I would have rang straight away like I did when I actually got the email off them. So becareful they dont sell your room from underneath you like they did with us will never use or recommend them to anyone ever

Stayed for a long weekend in May for my best friends hen party. Reception staff extremely helpful and check in was a breeze. Had 5 rooms in total, all were immaculately clean and tidy. Rooms a little dated and beds not massively comfortable, however for the price we paid and what we needed the hotel for we couldn’t complain. Got security deposit back within 5 working days of check out with no hassle. Would stay here again.
