Best Western The Lairgate Hotel

Comfortable and very convenient for the town. Only drawbacks were the minimal staffing and the lack of security in the bath/shower - no mats or grab handles. Risky for some!

When we stayed here a few years ago it was a Best Western hotel with bar and dining. The hotel appears to be under new ownership now, so no reception but check-in details were to be emailed to me, but weren't. A phone call got me the details. Our room was not bad, comfortable bed, well decorated and quiet. We were here for the races, as were many of the other guests. I would have thought that when the town was busy, they could have opened the bar, but no. No breakfast either. Having dining and bar options oavailable when there are events in town is something to consider.

Awful experience, self check in no parking even though it says free parking then got locked out .....not only ones no codes sent to other guests for self check in
