Hallmark Manchester

*****AVOID ***** ******No longer Best Western Hotel ****** After waiting for 25 minutes, someone eventually attended the reception desk. Then waited another 25 mins while they checked my room was cleaned.... At 10pm! Heating was on full with no way if turning it off. Even with windows open it was too hot to sleep (-3 outside) TV in the room, but no remote, kettle in the room, but no cups, tea, coffee or anything else. Bathroom was very dirty, carpet hadn't been vacuumed, plug sockets hanging off the wall, and the manager, who was pretending not to be the manager told me "the manager had dismissed all staff." This place is finished. The place smells of cigarette smoke and is grimey throughout. And I will be asking for a refund before they run out of money. Some others were turned away stating overbooking.

When we arrived we were given a room that wasn’t accessible for my mum who is in a wheelchair. The lovely lady on reception and Dean the duty manager went above and beyond to rectify the situation. It was an unfortunate issue that can happen but they were amazing in dealing with the issue. We had a yummy meal in the restaurant. Every member of staff we spoke to were so friendly and helpful. The hotel is warm and inviting, the rooms are the same and very clean. Overall I am very impressed and would come back in a heartbeat. Your manager Dean is a credit to your hotel and really cares about customers. If you ever need any new managers training send them to Dean, he knows how it should be done. We are coming back to Manchester at the end of Jan next year and if we stay over will 100% stay here. Thank you to Dean and all the lovely staff for a lovely stay.

Creaky and in need of a renovation. This hotel is close to the airport but it is quite dated, you cannot take a step in the hallway or your room without making a lot of noise due to the flooring. The breakfast was good and reasonably priced which was appreciated so I’ve given 2 stars for that alone.
