While searching for an affordable accommodation in Liverpool, I came across the Castle Lodge Guesthouse, which is not very centrally located and has aged a bit. Nevertheless, it was easy to reach by public transport and is situated in a quiet residential area. It was very helpful upon my arrival in the morning after a night ferry crossing from Northern Ireland that I could check into my room and take a shower right away. The room was also huge and designed for five people. The bathroom smelled a bit musty, but the water came out of the faucet with tremendous pressure. The beds were a bit worn, but all in all, the Castle Lodge Guest House turned out to be a good budget option with friendly staff. Additionally, there was a free breakfast included, so everything was taken care of in the end. Pleasant accommodation!
