Cambridge House Hotel

Stayed here with my 3 year old son and dad last night and couldn't actually belive how disgusting it was. Paid a lot of money for one night in their 'family room' and after a long day of travelling walked in this hotel. Not a family room with a partition as advertised but 3 single beds. That wasn't an issue as I was sharing a bed with my baby but the room itself was absolutely filthy, broken bedside drawers and fold out table, thick with dust on every surface, stained wallas and carpet and not even a spoon to make a hot drink with. The pictures speak for themselves, if I could have afforded to go elsewhere I would have.

We booked this guest house for an over night stop in Windermere. This double room cost £140.90 for a Saturday night, not including breakfast this was for room only, room no 5. We could not fault the location, as this was a ‘stones throw’ from cafes, shops and restaurants in Windermere. There was a number code to open the main front door, then a key safe to get the key for the room. We did not see the hosts at all. The main communal areas looked tired and smelt musty, mainly because the paint being chipped on the stairs and up the walls. Unfortunately, this then extended to the bedroom (no 5) as this was also painted a faded black on all walls and ceilings with chips everywhere. The bathroom door handle was loose, there was a rip on the quilt cover and the only storage was a couple of hooks and small bedside cabinet, which was okay for 1 night but would not have been for any longer. We thought that breakfast was included due to the price but there was no mention of this being included on the literature we received.
