Balmule House

We rented the Balmule House for 5 nights with our families for our elopement to Scotland. The house itself so was stunning and the property backed up to a farm with highland coos! Every room was so beautiful and they reccomended a local catering company who made us an incredible dinner on our wedding day. One of a kind place and we’re so happy we stayed here. I miss it already!

We had the most wonderful long weekend at Balmule House with our extended family of 18 adults and 3 small children. It was the perfect place for us to stay together — spacious, elegant, comfortable, and with plenty of room both to gather as a family and to enjoy some quiet time. The bedrooms were generous, the house was beautifully maintained, and the gardens and outdoor areas were lovely. We were also lucky with fantastic weather, although on very warm days it is worth opening all the windows early, especially on the top floor. The staff gave us a warm welcome, and the catering company recommended to us, TECC, knew the house well and took care of everything perfectly. My daughter even arranged a murder mystery game using the whole house, which was a huge success — Balmule was the perfect setting. The location is also excellent, close to Dunfermline, Knockhill Racing Circuit, Edinburgh Airport and easy trips into Edinburgh. Balmule House truly has everything you could wish for, and for a few days we felt like royalty. We would happily return.

This was the most fantastic venue for a small family wedding. Beautiful decor, furnishings, bedrooms and food. The staff left us alone to have to have the run of the house as if it were our own home, but were incredibly professional and so attentive and if we needed them.
