Central Hotel

Stayed one night for a gig at le angel down cowgate. Didnt expect much for the price and the reviews were very mixed. I'm 59 and booked a twin for me and my mate to share. The hotel is fabulously placed in the cowgate. Our room was above the bar and club and it was an England game for world cup 26 being shown live in the quad below. The room had three sets of double glazed windows. Couldnt hear a thing, but then we also stayed out enjoying the atmosphere too. The room was clean, two single beds and a bunk bed. Shower and bathroom was clean, plenty of hot water. Floor standing fan thing for the warm night. Reception was friendly. Staff were helpfull and welcoming. We didnt have breakfast but i passed it in the morning and it looked good. Room had plenty of coffee and tea. The quilt on my bed was luxurious. This hotel surpassed my expectations. Great if youre younger and like to party, or if youre young at heart like myself.

I had a fantastic stay at Stay Central Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh. The location is absolutely perfect—right in the heart of the city, within easy walking distance of the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, restaurants, bars, shops, and all the main attractions. The hotel itself was modern, stylish, and exceptionally clean. My room was comfortable, well-equipped, and surprisingly quiet considering the central location, which made for a great night’s sleep. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything was maintained to a very high standard. What really made the experience stand out was the friendly and welcoming staff. Every member of the team was professional, helpful, and genuinely eager to make sure guests had a great stay. Their local recommendations were excellent and helped make the most of my time in Edinburgh. The combination of outstanding location, comfortable accommodation, great facilities, and exceptional service makes Stay Central excellent value for money. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on my next trip to Edinburgh and will be recommending it to friends and family. Thank you for a wonderful stay! 😊

Terrible experience: coming back at 1 am, my room key doesn’t work. The on duty staff member tries to open it with five different cards unsuccessfully. When he is back downstairs looking for a solution I just push the door with my foot… and it opens miraculously without any effort: all my valuable stuff juste appears to be that accessible for the whole day. Then the staff member comes back and accuses me of having broken the door (that functions perfectly). I am still confused: who is supposed to be angry here? For a 250 euro evening in a very average room with a disfunctional key at 1 am?
