Corstorphine Lodge

Positives: Clean. Convenient location with easy travel into city centre. Friendly staff. Negatives: Very expensive for what you get (I paid £180 for one night). Retro-fitted bathroom made the room so dark I didn’t want to spend much time there. No staff on site at night which worries me as a solo traveller. Uncomfortable bed. No BBC channels on TV! With hindsight an airport hotel would have been a more comfortable and convenient option for a comparable price.

I was needing a hotel close to the airport. Corstorphine Hotel was exactly what I needed - welcome reception, clean room, comfortable bed, great shower and close to eateries for dinner. I left early the next morning as had an early flight. No problem checking out and uber arrived within two minutes. Great little hotel and location!

Everything was perfect. The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated in a typically Scottish style. The staff are discreet and efficient. The hotel is very well located, between Edinburgh Airport and the city centre. To get to central Edinburgh, you can take bus number 26 or 31 and get off at Princes Street. To travel to the airport, you can take bus number 100. There is plenty of hot water with good water pressure, as well as a television. The bins are emptied every day, and the tea and coffee supplies are replenished daily, including biscuits, tea and coffee. The rooms are equipped with a kettle, electrical sockets and USB ports. Don’t forget to bring a UK plug adapter! I can only highly recommend this wonderful hotel. I had a fantastic stay and I will definitely come back.
