Dalmore Lodge Guest House

I could not rate highly enough. My grandparents stayed here and loved everything to the decor to the cleanliness. They most certainly will be back. Keep up the great work!! (As their grandson, who works in hospo I was very impressed too) Great links to the city and the room they had was spacious and well fitted out every need was catered too. Positives. We were sent really detailed instructions on how to get to the property and all our questions were answered before we arrived. The room was spacious (room 5) and clean. Shower was nice and hot. Location was great, whilst not in the centre bus stop is right outside :). The coffee in the morning is from a fancy machine so was a plessant surprise. Iain and Dot were pleasant when we saw them. Constructive. We ordered breakfast which was nice but I was served scrambled egg on white toast, a choice would have been good and 1 slice of bread isn't enough, I don't think I've ever been served scrambled egg on toast with 1 slice of bread (standard hovis not thick/sourdough as an example where 1 may be filling) It felt a bit awkward in the morning as we had a bad sleep, as context there was an annoying noise (that was passed off as the fan, it wasn't) the owners were very helpful and responsive when I mentioned it but it made conversation a bit stiff at breakfast and we felt like "that couple" moaning but be rest assured we really are not. The noise was almost constant and after 2 nights was evident that it was everytime someone ran the tap (even in other rooms) I think we were unlucky that on night one someone showered at midnight. To be fair it wasn't forever but felt like it may never stop initially but purely because we didnt know what it was, after 15 mins it went away. Be curious if anyone else has noticed this? The written communication to helping respond to this was great but we felt awkward at breakfast :( sorry! Overall an ok stay.

Lovely room. Lovely shower. Comfy bed. Lovely breakfast with a superb coffee machine. Great hosts. Excellent value and would come again. Very convenient and excellent public transport.....Only used the car once in a week...Free car parking.
