Travelodge Central Waterloo Place Hotel

I have used this hotel each time in Edinburgh, on this occasion we found the standard of cleanliness and room was not acceptable. Food wrappers down back if the mattress and old receipts under the bed. Floor not hoovered, mould in bathroom. Not acceptable for the price charged.

Works going on outside but really enjoyed the stay Clean hotel and staff were very helpful with planning the trip and what to see. Would stay at this hotel again as very central just along Princes St

The location is brilliant, and unfortunately, that is about the only positive thing I can say. We booked two nights and were shocked to find a significant amount of mould around the bath, which smelled awful and made us cough more. We have respiratory issues and my children havr eczema. The receptionist showed no apology or empathy when we reported it. The silicone around the bath was replaced on our second day, but I still cannot understand why we had to inhale mould after paying £520 for our stay. Mould to this extent clearly does not develop in a single day. The room was also very poorly designed for three people. There was no table, only two chairs, so there was nowhere comfortable to sit and relax. There were only four or five hangers in total and, of course, no wardrobe. There was also nowhere suitable to hang clothes or put our suitcases. Another serious issue was the shower. The water suddenly became extremely hot intermittently, which made my child scream. This is a genuine health and safety concern, particularly when travelling with children. There was no hairdryer or iron in the room either. These had to be requested from reception. When I asked for an iron, the one provided was in an extremely poor and dirty condition. For £520 for two nights, I at least expected a basic level of cleanliness, safety and comfort. The location may be excellent, but the condition and facilities of the room and staff interactions were very disappointing.
