Decent hotel, comfortable nights sleep for the 3 nights we stayed in Edinburgh. Little things let the hotel down, like charging for WiFi in 2026, and charging us 20 quid cash to check in a bit early even though the room was ready. No bar or restaurant on site but lots nearby.
Location is great though.
We booked a room at the front overlooking Queen Gardens, not as noisy as at the back apparently. We paid 45 quid extra in advance to select our room, and got a slightly larger room.

The first disconcerting thing is that they are absolutely not reachable by phone (possibly only for a fee with a toll-free number but with a thousand complications).
For a long time I feared I had ended up on a "mirror site" of the original and had been scammed.
The hotel was there in the end.
The location is good, but the first night they gave me a room with a view of a wall less than 3 meters from the window: after complaining, the next day, they changed it for me.
They did not tidy up or clean the room.
They do not have breakfast or only, by paying separately, can you have a "box" containing something: much better to have it outside.
I don't think I would go back there

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to sleep on a pristine, exceptionally clean boulder, this is the hotel for you. The mattress managed to be simultaneously rock-hard and weirdly bouncy, an engineering feat that made me deeply nostalgic for my own collapsed, 20-year-old mattress back home that should have been put down a decade ago. The pillow selection was equally hostile: Choice A offered the structural integrity of a single sheet of paper, while Choice B was a certified neck-breaker.
To make matters worse, Edinburgh is currently enduring a July heatwave. With zero air conditioning and not even a basic table fan provided to move the stagnant air, the room quickly transformed into a sticky, sweaty sauna. My only saving grace was opening the window, which invited in the local sensory experience. I was treated to a midnight symphony of empty glass bottles being waterfalled into a Biffa bin by the pub next door, followed by a prompt 6:45 AM wake-up call from the local construction crew shouting pleasantries over the roar of heavy machinery.
Full marks to the housekeeping team because the place was genuinely spotless, but treat sleep as a strictly optional luxury if you stay here.
