The Dormy House Hotel

Extremely disappointed in the carvery The .food was cold including the gravy .Poor set up as carvery self serving area was by the door. With people coming in and out so no wonder it was stone cold . For 20 pounds. Each . It was not worth the price And the Dormy House should not rely on the sea view As a selling point . I did inform the staff on paying for. The bill. But was not offered a discount . We are local to this area and will not be going back the Dormy house .

Our stay was amazing for 3 days!!!! Could not wish for more , everyone who worked there was so kind helpful and such a family relaxed atmosphere. From Mandy the manager could not be more helpful, Sam made the best cocktails. Poppy always had a smile on her face. Also to the lovely lady who cleaned our room. We chatted to all the team and had a good laugh as well. The hotel has the best views and outside space, great food and all the chefs take pride in what they achieve. Do not leave without having the Sunday roast it really is the best ( the best roast on the coast ) The Dormy House Hotel has the best location just minutes away from Sheringham and Cromer. With buses ( £2.50 ) trains or walk . So leave your car in the free car park and relax. We will definitely be returning, and thanks again for our lovely weekend Tony & Caroline ( room 2 )

We have recently stayed at the Dormy House for 2 nights and we were very disappointed with our stay. We were booked into a family room and found the facilities inadequate for what we paid and things you would expect as standard. We only had one lamp working and the toilet did not flush properly this was extremely frustrating, the toilet also had a very bad odour coming from it. We understood that breakfast at the Dormy house had recently changed and guests are provided with a hamper in the room now as opposed to going down to the restaurant for breakfast, however, the hamper was inadequate to meet the needs of anyone with allergies as there were nuts, and a very limited variety of cereal for children - there was only porridge or Alpen. Also milk offered was only Full-fat no other choices and when we asked we were told no that's all there is. On the second morning of our stay the we were woken by the fire alarm and were unsure if we needed to vacant the building, but we did, only to find one member of staff downstairs who seem to have no clue what the fire procedure was there was no head-count or checking of names to see if all guests were out of the building. There is a disappointing lack of attention to detail, the carpark at the bottom had rubbish dumped there and potholes in the carpark which have potential to cause damage to cars coming in and out, and dog poop in the gravel on the front patio area. We have stayed at the Dormy before all of the changes were made and we had a great experience - but we sadly would NOT recommend the Dormy now, nor will stay here again. I think there is a lack of oversight into people's experiences, including the restaurant / bar which is now a lot more cramped due to the expansion of the rooms. We did eat at the Dormy House - but is was not a pleasurable experience.
