Sprowston Manor, A Marriott Hotel & Country Club

Just back from coach trip and stayed here. Positives are the staff who were all friendly and helpful (special mention to Louise on reception). Lovely old hotel, pool and jacuzzi fab when kiddies swim lessons not on. Twin room large with two double beds which were comfortable and clean as was bathroom, dust lying on TV stand, menu choices were good for group but good cold by time we got it and missing parts or uncooked. Mix ups in orders to customers wouldn't have happened if used table numbers on pre order sheets. On whole enjoyed our stay but needs management attention as staff pushed to limit. Grounds lovely.

Great hotel, perfect setting inside its golf course. Beautiful old building but some rooms up lots of stairs then down stairs inside the room that they showed us. Not ideal for us oldies. We booked dinner BnB. Breakfast a buffet so no issues with that. Fixed 3 course menu for dinner with limited choice and too often courses not available so quite disappointing. Drinks at the bar extremely expensive but bottles of wine quite reasonable. We played golf. Lovely course! £25 very good value. Nearby park-n-ride, so easy to visit Norwich by bus, which is a lovely city with so much to see and do. Would recommend this hotel and a holiday in Norfolk

The reception area is clean modern and the reception staff were great. The rooms were a different matter. The food at dinner was beautiful and staff in restaurant were attentive. We were upgraded from a standard room to a suite as when booking it had not been noted that my husband is disabled. Both rooms were dull, not clean, tired and the bed linen did not fit the bed. No extra pillows. You have to request a room cleaning service!! The bar area has furniture that is old, worn and damaged. The bar staff often went missing, certainly not cleaning and clearing tables. Away from the reception area the whole atmosphere was sad, old and not modern 4 star expectations especially at the prices.
