Old Loans Inn

I can't speak highly enough about this hotel. Laura at reception (and the bar, and the restaurant) was friendly, efficient and took the time to explain everything to us when we arrived as new customers. Our room was spacious and spotless. For the first time in ANY hotel I have stayed in I actually got a great sleep due to the low soft pillows. Usually the pillows are too big and firm for me to sleep comfortably. Plenty of free parking behind the hotel. The real show stopper for us was the choice and quality of the food. The deal we paid for included a 3 course meal from the seasonal menu. We were expecting a limited menu but there was a great selection and the food was outstanding. Our waitress, Hannah, was very lovely and polite, answered all of our questions and enjoyed some banter. The lounge and restaurant area were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. I cannot wait to stay here again. The hotel is a 30 minute walk from Troon beach. We took the local bus which took around 20 mins. About 6 mins by car. Our one wee issue was that we could not connect to the WiFi. Seemed to be a technical issue between our provider and theirs. This wasn't a big issue for us though.

Always a pleasure to visit Loans, friendly staff and great food

Best place in Scotland! Recommend the steak pie.
