Visited the hotel for a night away to celebrate wedding anniversary. The hotel is conveniently located within 10mins walking distance of the town centre.
We only booked online the night before and despite this there were no issues on arrival, the room was ready when we checked in. The room seemed newly rennovated, very clean and well presented. We booked a dinner, bed and breakfast Sunday escape which was great value for money.
Dinner in the amber restaurant was delicious and staff were very friendly and attentive (separate review).
Parking is currently £10 for 24 hours payable in hotel reception. There is a 2nd car park to the rear which is not well advertised.
The only small niggles were: 1) the hand & body wash hadn't been replenished by housekeeping which I only discovered once in the shower and we had to wait a little while for this to be replaced and 2) the hairdryer nozzle isn't the right one for the hairdryer and kept falling off (a nuisance for anyone with frizzy hair!).
Overall we had a fantastic stay, very happy with the room, hotel and staff.
