Campanile Liverpool

This hotel is supposed to have been refurbished but the shower curtain and bathroom in general was dirty. I didn’t have my booking reference to hand so so wasn’t aloud to check in without it, I was given a number to call and the lady on the phone said she couldnt give me the reference. I had to stand in the lobby and managed to get the reference from my laptop and when I read it out clearly the lady at reception had it in front of her saying that’s one. Offered ID and card made on booking but would not accept this… although this is what it states in the booking T&Cs. Too hot, windows that barely open but still had flies everywhere all over the ceiling. Asked for a glass of ice but wasn’t allowed to take a glass to my room only was allowed a paper cup, in case I fell and cut myself… to be clear I was sober but extremely drunk people carry glasses around the bar!

Room was good. Fairly large, comfortable bed and clean. We had a ground floor on the front of the building but with the window shut it was sound proof. Unfortunately the breakfast was not very good at all. Several items missing as a delivery had not arrived. The cooked items on the buffet looked like they’d been there for hours - dried up and inedible. When we asked for fresh stuff the staff said it was coming but we gave up waiting. Requested fried eggs but told only scrambled available which was overcooked and lumpy. The week before we stayed in the Dolby Hotel next door and because the room was so small decided to try the Travelodge. Big mistake - all food offerings including breakfast were far superior.

You had only 30 minutes of wifi, if you needed more you had to pay, you had to pay for parking EVEN tho we were at the hotel, I could understand if I just wanted to turn up but I was a guest, I had all you could eat breakfast but the room was small, with the amount of guests we just couldn’t get any of the items we wanted as it took ages, in the end we just went to Mac Donald’s which was opposite the hotel, another guest was staying in the hotel, I couldn’t tell which room but she was singing, shouting and laughing when we left hotel for food at 10pm, we came back and still she and her friend hadn’t stopped till 6am, we came exhausted getting away from our children and left exhausted because of the guests
