Hampton by Hilton Liverpool / John Lennon Airport

The location is fantastic, very close to the terminal. The carpark and hotel itself is right on the top floor of the Multistory carpark. The check-in was easy enough. I was here on business with the hotel booked through work, I was told I couldn't collect my Hilton Honours points as they invoice the company direct and not me, this has never been a thing with any of the other Hilton's I've been to which I thought was strange. Although the hotel is right next to the terminal, the soundproofing is good enough that you don't hear the planes. The room is basic but has what you need. There are no fridges but the staff did store my dinner that I'd meal prepped for the next few days for me. We are currently experiencing a heatwave and the AirCon was a welcome relief, the room was preset to 17 degrees on my arrival. There's a basic fitness Room, the door is broken so you don't need a special key or anything, just go straight in. It is situated right next to reception so does feel a bit public. The first morning I went down for breakfast at 9am, breakfast is served from 4 for continental and 6-10 for hot food. By the time I'd arrived there was nothing left. The staff were slowly replenishing the food though. Honestly though I wouldn't bother. I can say that the breakfast here is the worst breakfast I've ever had, and I've stayed in a lot of hotels. The food that hadn't ran out was stone cold, and the cups, my god were disgustingly dirty. I must have picked up 10 cups that had stains or just dreggs of hot chocolate still in the bottom of them. The glasses for the juice weren't much better. Seriously Hilton, invest in a new dishwasher. There was about a tablespoon of scrambled egg left swimming in water under the hot lamp and I asked if I could order fresh eggs, and was told that they only do scrambled. That says to me powdered eggs. Eventually some fresh sausages came out so I had a couple of sausages, a hashbrown, one rasher of stone cold bacon, no beans as they had ran out, and I wasn't touching that egg. No coffee, (my first cappuccino was dispensed as black water as the coffee machine had also ran out!) and I never found another clean cup to make another brew. Tomorrow I'll be taking the cup down from my hotel room and using that. Also there are no pastries, I was told continental starts from 4 so maybe if you want pastries, you can get up at 4am for those.. If I wasn't forced to come here for work, I wouldn't come again but then looking around, there doesn't look like there any other hotels here, so do you really have a choice? Maybe a hotel doesn't need to offer a good service if there's no competition?

We are honestly disturbed, the hotel it self was good enough for what we needed but we honestly felt terrible for the Asian guy who actually seemed to care and try his best and dealt with us amazingly but the rest of the staff here need looking into because they way they spoke to that Asian lad was actually embarrassing, he is a credit to the company after being visibly upset he disappeared and came back exposed apologized to us in such a professional manner for witnessing that but honestly was extremely unprofessional on the side of the other staff and honestly we wouldn't return as good as the Asian guy was the staff just couldn't care less here and that such a shame!

Stayed at the Hampton for the Foo Fighters concert. Paid £300 for a family room for 3 people and have just had the worst breakfast we have ever had in a hotel. There was bacon but that was it. Basically NO replenishment of hot English breakfast items, juices, breads. All the coffee machines were broken. Couldn't even get a glass of water. One staff member working her socks off to keep things running and clear tables but she was clearly losing the battle as the queue grew in the restauran of hungry post-concert revellers, in the hope food would turn up. A disaster! We're having to go to Greggs for breakfast now.
