Although the pub and guest rooms are in need of a little TLC, the staff are great, as would be expected from Wirral people. The food is very good pub food. Drinks wise, my only grouch is that they don't sell any traditional cask beers, even though there are some beer engines on the bar. They also don't have a very good choice of ciders. The TV and internet reception is very, very poor. Overall, if you want somewhere good to stay, this is a great basic pub/hotel and good value for money.

The food is good and the bedroom nice and comfy. My one disappointment was the lack of any cask beer being available on a Saturday night. Greene King IPA is gorgeous pint, and was a factor in choosing where to stay.
