Best Western Plus Dean Court

Four star "mmmm" Room (suite) was very faded and hot beyond a joke. A freestanding air Con unit with a pipe sticking through the window into the street had been placed in the corner in an attempt to cool the room, it didn't. The windows were so rotted and painted over that only a few of them could, with effort, be opened. Resteraunt. For a four star hotel this was disappointing. My bare arms stuck to the tacky surface of the table which was long overdue for replacement. Food. The breakfast was excellent with a great choice. The only evening meal we had there was fish and chips and scampi and chips. These were acceptable but nothing special. Location. We had chosen the hotel as it was only a short distance to the Minster. The problem was that every teenager in the area congregated in the minster square in the evenings and the racket, especialy at weekends made sleep impossible until well after midnight. All in all I would sugest that £2623.00 for a week here was very overpriced.

Stay for one night. We love York. It's our third time there. Hotel was lovely. Very pleased with the room we were given. Ground floor. Very big, clean, spacious. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was lovely. Lots to choose from. Definitely stay again.

Absolutely loved this hotel. The location is superb, and our room overlooked the Minster, which was brilliant. The food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast. The staff were lovely, particularly Frank and Beata. I mentioned that we were there for my birthday the next day as we were checking in, and she remembered the next morning and wished my happy birthday as soon as she saw me. That was a nice touch. Frank took our bags when we arrived and took us up to our room taking time to explain where everything was and how the hotel works which was helpful, he was very friendly. Our room was on the top floor and as we are in the middle of a heatwave they had provided a portable air-con unit which worked really well. The en-suite was lovely as well. We will definitely go back there, and would stay in the same room.
