Caddion

Nice place to stay, very central with the cathedral about 1 min walk away and the Shambles about 5 min walk. It was showing its age in places but understandable for its age although a few touch ups wouldn't hurt. We stayed two nights, the bed was ok but definitely had better, didn't like the pillows but I'm sure if I mentioned something the staff would have fixed it as they were all very lovely. Breakfast was included which was very nice. Overall I would come back again as the location was great and staff were fabulous but I think two nights would be enough until the bedding had been upgraded. Also as with most of these old buildings there is no lift if that is a problem to anyone.

Lovely staff. Room was clean and warm. Was quite small and bathroom was very narrow. Bathroom door once shut stuck badly and was very hard to open. In need of a bit of tlc, paintwork needed some attention. Breakfast was really good and served till 11am, which is a bonus. Hotel was very central and would stay again.

We stayed in room 6 for 3 nights, wonderful stay. Our room was comfortable, although the mattress was slightly soft for my liking. The bathroom was amazing! Bathroom and large shower with great toiletries. Breakfast was delicious, excellent choices and all very well cooked, cooked to order as well. The location is perfect right in the centre of York, no where was far to walk. Only a 10 minute walk to the train station. There are loads of things to do on the doorstep. We arrived early and could leave our bags, when we returned they had been placed in our room. Highly recommend this hotel, and hope to return soon.
