Stayed here for anniversary and birthday.. located in the annex in rear of property. First impressions on entering property was overwhelming smell of musky dampness. On further looking, shower grouting was full of black mold, headboard was full of dust as was the rest of the room. Kettle great but to big to fill under the tap! Thank goodness for glasses so could fill Kettle for a brew.. No milk or sugar provided, thankfully Tesco just across the road. Breakfast was amazing, staff the same.. Location was fantastic everything within walking distance.. Just a shame that room was not up to scratch.

Couldn't fault it! Great location. Lovely staff, really good breakfast, big and well appointed room. Maybe they have spruced up since some negative revues but we thought it was clean charming and comfortable. Parking as well! Noise doesnt bother me coming from a city but tbh musoc was done by 10 on the nighy we stayed, and it was good music! We would definitely stay again.

Nice stay at the Gillygate. Location is perfect, room was adequate for our one night stay. Excellent value for money, parking is a great bonus. The carpark is hard to find but it is down a very narrow road next to an interiors shop which takes you round the back. Staff very friendly we will return.
