We stayed at the Maynard for a weekend and I would recommend this hotel, not because it is ultra modern and has a pillow menu, but because it has everything like home from home. The owner, Claire, made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We felt so comfortable, lovely sheets and plenty of tea/coffee/biscuits no our massive room (we were lucky enough to bag the biggest in the building! There is a great cafe literally a building away for a hearty breakfast with wonderful food and service. We would recommend this hotel, it ticked all our boxes. JG from Harrogate

Very average hotel. Positive: Clean, ok beds and good size in the room. Negative: Little hot water in the shower, a little outdated standard, little ventilation/aircon, a lot of noise from other guests (fill), a lot of screaming from the park.

Great location and it's very clean. The woman who greeted us was friendly. The bed was fairly comfortable and the place was clean, but could have done with a spare sheet instead of a thick duvet as the room was warm. Yes, the place could do with a little paint and an upgrade like some say, but I quite like the traditional look. The other guests were very noisy and standing in the corridor yelling early in the morning.
