The White Horse

Recently stayed in York coming from Cornwall with my wife and daughter, and decided to pop in for a few drinks and food on our last day. The atmosphere of the pub itself was nice and food was very good at the time. However I noticed my daughter felt somewhat uncomfortable sometime after leaving. She is 19, but later explained that the young guy behind the bar, not sure of his name, but Indian I believe. Had said something inappropriate to her. Which only later she explained. I would have returned to the place to voice my complaints. But we had already set off back home. I suggest your staff act in a more professional and respectful manner to their customers in future.

Recently moved back to York and this pub is on my walk between home and work, so decided one evening to pop in for a pint… The Guinness was perfect! The bartender that served me was lovely, met the landlady (it may have been the landlords daughter I'm not quite sure) who was also lovely, both engaged in conversation with me and made feel really welcome. The venue itself was clean and tidy, nice decor, looks like a lovely local pub without feeling dated, toilets were clean and hit the bingo… cubicle had a lock, toilet had a seat, there was loo roll, taps worked, hand dryer worked. What more do you need in life?

We paid £330 for 3 nights, we could only stay one because the stairs are terrible, 3 lots to get to twin room. They said they had no other rooms available, and they wouldn’t refund us any money back. When I got home I checked the pics and the only twin room they said they had looked nothing like ours. There is no wf. The staff we met was really good, and the one breakfast we had was lovely.
