Thompsons Arms

Charming bnb with a beautiful pub that has such a sense of community and cheap drinks. The hosts were so nice and the cottage was cosy and quiet. Really good Breakfast if I'm ever back in Flaxton then I'll definitely book here again! Thank you both so much for your hospitality 😊

Easy to find, plenty of parking. Easy and quick check in. Owners are very friendly and helpful. We had the double room above the pub and it was a really nice size with tea/coffee, fridge and ensuite with shower gel, shampoo and towels. The place could do with a bit of an update, run down in places. The plug in the bath did not work and the shower trickled out so cleaning off after a day out walking was difficult. Lovely peaceful location, 20 mins drive from York and can see plenty of the North York Moors from here without driving for too long. Obviously this room is at a pub, so it is noisy in the evenings so don't expect an early night. It was a perfect base for us. Read less

Just here for one night. Room was very large and clean. Bathroom had a bath with shower over , not just a shower as many places seem to have adopted. Lots of parking. Stu is a really nice guy and runs a lovely little bar with exceptional prices, in a good way. Breakfast is very, very well priced at £7.50 and cooked to perfection and nothing was lacking. Nothing felt pre cooked and warmed up as is often the case. It's unlikely we will stay here again only because we only live 30 miles away, but if you are in the area, I promise you can do an awful lot worse. Great place.
