A great hotel for a country retreat. Location is brilliant and the facilities/amenities are excellent. Bar area is cosy and they have a Starbucks coffee machine. Great value for money and the room was mega spacious, clean and not noisy whatsoever. At reception we were greeted by Chloe who went above and beyond in making sure our stay was memorable. She gave us a lot of useful information and accommodated our room request, which was a top floor room with a nice view out of the window. On our second night, the TV wasn't working. I went down to mention this and Chloe very kindly come up and took the time out to fix this, which we really appreciated. A great customer service and full marks to Chloe and the rest of the Team also down at the bar area. We will definitely be returning. Kunal and Michelle x

Stayed here with my son in a suite booked on points. Nice welcome at reception but that changed when another gentleman and my son and I advised the receptionist that the lift would not open. Real attitude blaming us for the issue. Exited the lift, once it was working!, and was stunned to see their suite room was opposite the lift and so very noisy inside the room. The bedroom was good, bed very comfy, but sofa bed not made up and the air con hardly functioning. An extra radiator had been put into the room, so the issue was obviously known. Room looked tired, as did the bathroom. The whole hotel needs a freshen up. Bed very comfy. Breakfast not great. A few items had run out and were not being replenished, despite there being an hour left on service. Overall, it was average. Disappointing for a Holiday Inn. I stay in IHG properties every time I’m away, hence being able to book on points, and this was one of the worst I’ve stayed in in a long while.

We had a great one night stay as part of a works Christmas party. Our room was clean and comfortable and the heater was on when we arrived so it was nice and warm upon arrival. We did note how noisy the heater was and we couldn’t leave it on for any length of time for that reason. Food was delicious for both the Christmas dinner and breakfast the following morning. There was a selection of cooked breakfast items, pastries, cereals, fruit etc. Only one small negative was the damp smell in the corridor by the lifts. This didn’t affect my overall impression of the place. Obviously the carpets had been cleaned previously and there’s little ventilation in that area. It was only in that one area. The damp smell didn’t linger elsewhere.
