We have just had a lovely evening meal at the hotel restaurant. Travelling with an autistic teen means we sometimes have to make unusual requests. Nothing was too much trouble for this young lady. Even to asking if we wanted to move to a private room when a large group came in. Food was very good, I had an amazing veggie lasagne. We also had a pizza, lamb pasty and adapted mixed grill. The meat on the mixed grill was slightly overcooked but still went down well.

A characterful at least 400 year old building with lots of interesting history, now a simple hotel in a delightful setting overlooking the river. We are active octogenarians who very much enjoyed our visit and were well looked after, we were even met at the station, and given a lift back . Generous portions of food and a varied menu. Good levels of cleanliness, comfortable beds and quiet. Our thanks to the proprietor and his partner.
