Very interesting reading the mixed reviews on here. We can only say positive things from our 3-night stay here. The staff were all very nice, helpful and friendly, the food was very good pub food and nicely presented and the room well fitted out. It really met our expectations and was a good, dog friendly stay. The parking was fine - not always outside the pub/hotel but always something available. Only missed out on the 5 because you could slightly smell that it was a dog friendly room, the noise from outside could disturb unless you had the windows tight shut which isn’t viable in August and the step in the middle of the bedroom could catch you out in the dark of the night! Nothing that would stop a recommendation and it met our expectations.

We haven’t stayed at the Hope and Anchor but the food there is fantastic. I turned 50 last year and have eaten fish and chips where ever I have been, this is easily the best I’ve ever had. Crispy batter that stayed crispy until the very last bite🥰
