The Estate House

Huge bed, Yorkshire tea and fresh milk in the room, gorgeous walk from the doorstep around the castle grounds, woodlands, and village. Debs and Bill made sure we had everything we needed, and their gentle terriers were on hand to make sure we enjoyed the top class breakfast.

Ford is a lovely village with great walks for dogs. The Estate House is set right in the middle next to Ford Castle. Lovely spacious room looking over the garden. Dog friendly. Excellent cooked breakfast.

Only stopped for one night whilst travelling up to complete the NC500 and this place punches well above its weight and is worthy of a longer stay. The hosts are excellent, friendly, chatty and full of information about the area and where to visit. The atmosphere upon arrival to leaving is very welcoming and although we didn't have an evening meal (but wished we did), the breakfast was outstanding. Rooms are plush and comfortable and the hotel is in a blissfully quiet location so you will get a great nights sleep.
