The Country Cottage Hotel

Amazing location, in the middle of town but you feel secluded. Stayed overnight for a wedding and it was brilliant. Staff went above and beyond to help with things and the room was perfect, loved the little bit outside to sit. Cant recommend this place enough, I will definitely be going back when im up that way again. Oh and be polite lol Hannah likes it when you say please and thankyou 👍👍👍

We've been in Ruddington for the weekend and stayed at The Cottage Hotel. Such a lovely hotel. Our room was beautiful, the breakfast delicious and the staff helpful and personable. Definitely a nice place to stay and well-placed to explore local areas.

My husband and I booked The Cottage as we required somewhere to stay after a long day travelling and as the website promised "peace and quiet" and a "restful stay" we thought it would be exactly what we needed. Unfortunately for us there was a wedding taking place that day, this meant that our planned quiet, restful night did not happen. It was in fact very noisy and disruptive with children running around, shouting etc in the garden area right outside our room and a disco playing well into the night. We appreciate that events are sometimes noisy but, given the size of The Cottage, it was disappointing that when booking we weren't informed that an event was taking place, as it is inevitable that this will impact on your stay if you are not party to the event. The room itself was a bit tired but as we were only staying one night it was sufficient for our needs, albeit we had to have the windows shut on one of the hottest nights of the year due to the noise from the event. The restaurant was not open as it only operates Monday-Thursday (presumably because of events taking place over the weekend) and we weren't able to take advantage of the "honeysuckle draped central courtyard" or "pretty walled gardens" due to the event taking place. Overall if you want a stopover that is convenient to Nottingham it's ok, but if you are booking ask whether an event is taking place on the date you want to stay if you want a quiet stay.
