Room ok Food good Sleep quality zero! Music all night gone past 11 on a Monday night! Dreadful. Tried to ring reception no answer, phone was put down on me twice then not answered. Dreadful customer service.

We had the unfortunate experience of missing the ferry. We headed back to Kirkwall and started to walk, looking for signs of accommodation on the way. The Albert Hotel was the first one, and it had a room available for us at £150 with breakfast. True, reception was unattended, but we walked through to the bar and got someone to make it appear. The room was generous sized and clean, bathroom as well, shower over bath. Friendly staff. Food available, and close to city centre. One of the best experiences on this trip.

The first room we were given had music from somewhere so loud that the walls vibrated. They moved us to a quieter room but only had one with twin beds. It was nice enough but very expensive and they could not provide us with the ‘free’ breakfast because we had to be on an early ferry. Overall a so so experience and not really worth the price.
