Bicester Hotel, Golf & Spa

I booked this hotel for myself and my daughter as it was near the Bicester Shopping Village and I must say I was not impressed. I booked a body scrub and a facial, my daughter had a massage and a facial in the spa they had on site and was disappointed. The room was cold and the body scrub was literally a body scrub as it didn't include my arms!! I felt it was being rushed. Our room was a twin and was in need of modernisation and a good clean. I read the reviews about the onsite restaurant and they weren't favourable but I can honestly say our meal was the best part of the stay. The hotel is in need of some TLC.

Beware this hotel. Took my booking and full payment 12 months in advance. Confirmed booking by email - as a consequence I booked expensive events in the area that can’t be cancelled. 4 months later they cancel the booking telling me it’s now fully booked. Disgraceful behaviour

I booked this hotel 11 months in advance for the Silverstone Grand Prix, specifically to secure accommodation well ahead of a busy event. Three months after making the booking, the hotel cancelled it. Their explanation was a “system error” during a change of booking systems. They said they were already fully booked before my reservation was made and therefore had no room available. If that was the case, why was my booking accepted, and why did it take three months to identify the problem? I find it extraordinary that a hotel can leave a booking in place for that long before announcing it cannot accommodate the guest. I am extremely angry and disappointed. Having planned well in advance, I now have to find alternative accommodation for the Grand Prix. An apology does not undo the inconvenience or restore the booking I had relied upon. Whatever the explanation, this experience has completely undermined my confidence in the hotel’s handling of reservations. I would not trust this hotel with another booking.
