The Baskerville

Stayed for 1 night and arriving really late - we couldn't have received a warmer welcome from everyone we encountered, including one of the owners. The rooms were lovely, comfy, clean and well catered for. Graham and Jill went above and beyond to look after us, made sure we had everything we needed. Graham even rocked up early the next morning to make sure we were fed and ready for our day ahead! It genuinely felt like you were leaving family. Huge thank you from us, we would highly recommend this place to stay. Next time we're there we plan to make sure we can sample the food it looked incredible.

Booked a night here to walk two sections of the Thames Path. What a find! Beautifully refurbished pub, really comfortable rooms, excellent food, super helpful and friendly staff. One of those places where they have thought of everything - including oat milk for the vegan! Had a real 'heart of the community' feel which we loved. Slightly annoying dog made very welcome. Two minutes walk from the station so perfectly situated if you are walking the path. Strongly recommended!

Turned up for our twice yearly mates lunch at 1pm to be told that the kitchen was too busy to serve us. The place was barely half full but the way we were told so nonchalantly was pretty annoying. Wouldn’t mind so much if there was the slightest acknowledgement that this was a ridiculous state of affairs. If you can’t get fish and chips on a Friday then there’s a serious lack of management…won’t be going back.
