Eurobar Cafe and Hotel

No room key. You get given a code for your room on a post-it note. Small blood stains on the bed quilt, looked like mold on one of the pillows and white stains on the cushions. Fan provided in the room which was good because of the hot weather recently. From the entrance the carpets were dirty, smelt of ciaagtte, wall paper coming off the wall, paint coming off the wall and no staff at the reception so had to ring the ring door well multiple times then someone came running from downstairs to give us our post-it note. This was the only time we saw any staff the two nights we were there. I'd make sure to bring your own shower gel, as you get the littlest bottle which is a mix of shower gel/ shampoo/ conditioner. Best thing about this hotel is that it's close to the railway station and the shopping centre. On the email it said you were meant to be charged £100 incase of any damage luckily that didn't happen to us. From the outside it looks like a dungeon, apparently under going renovation which is very needed. Definitely over charged for what your getting.

When Mary and Joseph were told there was no room at the Inn,they were told they could stay in the stables.A nice place to give birth.Given a choice of staying at the Eurobar and "hotel" or that Stable,the stable would win every time.It was probably full of cow,horse and pig excrement and it still would have been cleaner than not only the room,but the Hotel itself.The one wall with no plaster on it was particularly nice as you came up a steep flight of stairs with no hand rail.But health and safety were clearly a top factor in the Eurobar.I am thankful it was a warm night as the heater leaning against my room wall filled me with confidence that even if it was a cold night I would probably have still been warm when my room caught fire.At least the smoke detector above the bed appeared to be working but as I bolted down the stairs if the room had caught fire,I would probably have died falling down the stairs due to the lack of a hand rail. When I got back from my night at the theatre,I turned the TV on only to find it had one channel,BBC news. It was nice to look out the window though at night ,the view was better in the dark. Speaking of the Dark,it was fun trying to use a bathroom where the light didn't work. My partner payed for the hotel as a treat for me and at £77 it apparently included breakfast.When no staff were to be found i was kind of thankful there was a Weatherspoons pub opposite that I had a very nice full English breakfast in with free unlimited tea.Saying that I was kind of thankful there was no breakfast at the Eurobar as I get the feeling it would have been food scraps from the bins behind the Weatherspoons. Oh I forgot to mention the fact there was no hot water either,so washing in the morning consisted of boiling a kettle and washing in the sink.Saying that though even If there was hot water I doubt I would have got in the shower. I am slim and 5 foot 10 inches high.I doubt I would have got a gerbal in the shower it was that small. So would I stay there again,no,I would rather sleep rough Would I recommend this place? Only if you had a sadisticlal streak of staying in a dumpster for the night I would say stay there.And that's at a push. I have told my partner to do a charge back as I feel guilty about her paying for it for me...........all though I do feel I dodged the bullet by not having breakfast.The only reason I have given it 1 star is because I can't give it zero.If you follow that one star and it takes you to a stable,stay with the cattle instead.

Terrible experience in the dirtiest hotel ive ever stayed in. They even scammed us out of our deposit of £100 by accusing us after we had left of making damage which was already there upon check in.
