Rose Revived

We visited this hotel as attending a party locally, we arrived on a very rainy Saturday afternoon after driving up from Southampton! We were greeted warmly, the pub was very busy with people having lunch. We were allocated room 5 which we very nice! Good size, large bed, nice view of the river, well appointed bathroom. Our only comment is we found the bed a little uncomfortable but this is just our preference that it was a little too firm. We had a couple of drinks in the bar and some Nachos when we got back - all very nice. Overall a lovely stay and we would definitely return.

I was visiting this hotel to meet friends walking The Thames Path. On arrival the exterior, restaurant interior and location were very pleasing. The room I was allocated though was very small and quite shabby with peeling paint, broken curtain fixings along with spiders and insects on the ceiling. The service at the bar was not that welcoming although our server was very nice and friendly. The evening meal was very average and not worth the price charged in my opinion. The next morning my breakfast was extremely disappointing and I could not eat much of it, bearing in mind that I was charged for two breakfasts due to the room rate being based on two occupants. I would have expected to have had this extra breakfast charge removed from my bill.

Lovely setting, staff young and not interested, lived around here for 20 yrs and place has changed, we had Fish and chips and was awful for £17
