Gleneagles Hotel

Glengleages has a magical way of making you feel like you are the only person who matters. And they maintain these standards time and time again. The service was exceptional from start to finish. So incredibly grateful to be able to return and I look forward to my future visits God willing.

This was our sixth stay at Gleneagles over the years, and it simply never fails to impress. If anything, the standards of service manage to become even better with each visit. From the moment my wife and I arrived at the main entrance, we were greeted with an incredibly warm welcome by a front-of-house team brimming with great personalities and a true Scottish sense of humour. In no time, our car was valet parked, our luggage was taken care of, and we were swiftly checked into our room in the main building. We opted for the main house, which features a lovely, classic design looking out over the hills. The room itself was remarkably spacious and intelligently divided into three sections: a bedroom with a freestanding wardrobe, a well-appointed bathroom, and a beautiful living room complete with a comfortable sofa, a dining table, and a generously stocked bar featuring several bottles of excellent whisky. Note for longer stays: If you are booking for a week or more, the wardrobe space in the room can be a bit tight, and personally, I slightly prefer the more contemporary feel of the rooms in the newer extension but the comfort and views here were still exceptional. The offerings at Gleneagles are top-tier across the board, though The Strathearn easily stands out as the crown jewel of the dining experiences. For leisure, the golf courses are famously amazing, but what makes this resort truly special is the incredible breadth of activities available. There is more than enough to keep non-golfers thoroughly entertained. While the location, architecture, facilities, and food are all world-class, the real purpose of this review is to acknowledge the phenomenal staff. Every single employee we met was an absolute credit to the hotel’s management and training program. Even the youngest and newest members of the team are professional, personable, and genuinely engaging. The true testament to Gleneagles' excellence occurred at the end of our original six-night stay when my wife unfortunately took ill and required hospital treatment. The Guest Relations team stepped in seamlessly during this stressful time. I want to give a massive, heartfelt thank you to Alexandra, who went entirely above and beyond. She handled everything flawlessly: coordinating the ambulance, reorganising our restaurant reservations, and extending our stay for an additional four nights without requiring us to move rooms. To top it off, she arranged for a beautiful bouquet of flowers to be left in the room for my wife upon her return from the hospital. It was such a thoughtful, deeply appreciated gesture. Alexandra is a credit not just to Gleneagles, but to the entire hospitality industry. Thank you for taking such incredible care of us. We are already looking forward to coming back.

If you’re looking for a classic Scottish grand hotel/sporting lodge then look no further. While staying here you’re transported to another era of service, quality and elegance. Every aspect of our stay - activities, food, drinks, ambiance, service, etc., was exceptional. Highly recommended and we can’t wait to go back!
