Duchally Country Estate - a CLC World Resort

Great rooms. Hotel rooms and lodges are both very good. Hotel grounds were great to explore and enjoy the serenity of nature. Breakfast had a good selection of options but dinner time choices weren't not a lot to choose from which was a bit disappointing. The fitness centre on the grounds was small but plenty of choices to help you keep fit. We had some cute red squirrels dotting around the lodges. This was a delight to see.

It was ok. Staff were pretty ambivalent. Some grumpy. It doesnt work like any hotel I've ever stayed in ....pay for your meals on the spot...pay for your breakfast at breakfast? Sadly the steam room was broken and the jacuzzi was full of small children. No swimsuit spinner or bags for wet costumes. No conditioner in the showers. Beautiful grounds and the ducks are the stars of this place. Huge TV in the bar - showing American football? Our food was mixed. Long wait for it. Worst lentil soup Ive ever had.. Fridge in the room wasnt on and it was vety grubby. Must do better!!

The staff were fabulous, I had travelled many hours to get there and was very tired, I had called ahead as I had a large vehicle with a large trailer. They were so helpful and on arrival reception staff were prepared for me and ensured all went smoothly. I went to the bar and had a meal before settling in, the bar staff Pierre, William and Georgia were fantastic. The service from them was great but more importantly they made me feel welcome and at home taking the time to chat with me. Food was excellent.
