Hilton Dunkeld House

We arrived at Dunkeld House Hotel after our wedding for a Scottish mini-moon, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. As soon as we checked in, there was complimentary whisky to help yourself to, which was a lovely touch. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and informative throughout our stay. We stayed in the Duchess Suite, and it was absolutely stunning. It had high ceilings, a comfortable sofa area in front of the TV, one of the best beds I’ve ever slept in, and French doors with beautiful views over the river and surrounding trees. We enjoyed some lovely food during our stay. Breakfast was fairly average but did the job. After the wedding, all we wanted to do was relax, so we ordered room service, which was excellent with a good variety of options. The pool and spa facilities were really impressive, and the gym looked well-equipped too. The hotel grounds are beautiful, with a lovely riverside walk. If you head left along the path, you can reach Dunkeld town centre in around 15–20 minutes. There was also some great live music in the evening, which created a really nice atmosphere. We also had afternoon tea, which was excellent, and once again, the service was faultless. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and will definitely be back. Considering the standard of the Duchess Suite, I thought it offered good value for money. The only downside was a slight unpleasant smell coming from the toilet drains in our bathroom. Aside from that, everything else was excellent.

This is our second trip to the Dunkeld this year and again we had a wonderful stay. Location is perfect right on river Tay and surrounded by beautiful acres of greenery. If you are lucky you can get a close up view of the deer that roam close by. We dined both in the bar for lunch and the restaurant both evenings. Staff are lovely. Special mention to Masie & Gareth but no one can compare to the service we received from Willi. He is super efficient, nothing is too much trouble and all done with a smile and a bit of banter! Willi should be promoted to Management or given a bonus for the effort he puts into his job. We will definitely return again to The Dunkeld whenever we return to Scotland.

Stayed two nights for some sightseeing, walking and cycling. The hotel location is great with the river Tay running close by and the town of Dunkeld a 10minute walk away. Made use of the Spa, pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room and the staff there were excellent. The breakfast choice was very good and since the weather was good it was nice to sit outside with a coffee and watch the river flow by. The restaurant was very good, but also very busy, so the service was a bit slow. This did not matter as we enjoyed the ambience and were happy to wait. The walk to Dunkeld along by the river was enjoyable with lots of birds about and in the evenings, bats flying and fish leaping close by. Lots to see and do in Dunkeld. There were good walking/cycling trails in the hills above the hotel.
