This hotel has quite a history. It was a former mill and still has a lot of artifacts from milling days. There are a lot of steps to the rooms so it’s not perfect for older people since there is no lift and no concierge. The room carpet is threadbare and there is only one electrical outlet by the bed so you have to unplug a lamp to charge your phone at bedside. But the bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Shower pressure was low and soap dispensers placed in a difficult place to use since they are where you need space to turn around.

Watermil Hotel 15thcentry to go with the room decor. Carpet in places thread bare, comfortable chair is a banquet chair from the conference room, mirror stained, tv on low bedside cabinet, bathroom, soap dish cracked, top of hot water tap missing, items removed from bathroom tiles repainted with a diff colour Nothing like the photos , night before received an email to upgrade if I paid more. This is to get what you saw originally otherwise it’s a depressing room

The staff were great and the breakfasts ok. The room was awful. The window opening looked like it hadn’t worked since the last century which meant we were sleeping (or not sleeping)in an oven as there is no ac. In the end I used a shoe to prop open the window. The lights in the corridor were at maximum brightness which meant the room was floodlight underneath and at the sides of the door. We had a twin room as I was staying with my son but only got one towel. They didn’t replace the tea or milk as we were staying two nights. There was also no fridge in the room. The rooms were also very out dated. I would not recommend this place. Shame because the staff were all very nice and the food adequate
