Loved the nature hikes around the grounds. The folks at the front desk were very kind. Furnishings tracked with the age and theme of the building. If you are looking for a novelty stay in a very cute town, this is a great choice.

We had a wonderful two-night stay in this grand hotel. Room 227 has a garden view and two comfy chairs in the window. Both shower and bath in a clean en-suite bathroom. Dinner and breakfast excellent.

Lovely old building full of character. The grounds are well kept and are really nice to walk around. The room was spacious with all you would expect, fridge, hairdryer, iron & ironing board, coffee machine and the usual tea making facilities. A nice touch to have bottled water and fresh milk in the fridge. The furniture is a bit dated but all adds to the character of this place. We enjoyed the pool and it was clean. I had a massage by the lovely Joanna which was so relaxing, not cheap at £110 but it was a birthday treat. Food choices weren't great for us so we ended up eating out. Breakfast was ok but did have to wait a bit for the toast and seemed to be rationed to one slice each. I suppose I could have asked for more but filled up on other stuff instead. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come back again if in the area. Other feedback to the hotel would be the snooker table drastically needs updated, odd battered balls, bent cues and the cloth has seen better days.
