Scotlands Hotel

This hotel is right in the middle of the town, reception cool and not very welcoming when checking out just took the keys not even goodbye. I to the lift up to 2nd floor corridor shabby , paint peeling off walls, windows dirty,hidden step which could be a trip hazard. Into the room found empty Prosecco bottle on the floor behind curtain. This goes to general lack of good cleaning. The place really needs a good deep clean. No restaurant on site , bar is pitiful. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel was cold as it was raining all day we asked about heating to be told it would be on a 16:00, didn’t come on asked again was told no, heating won’t be on but did give us a plug in heater

I was in a single room which was very small with no privacy as it looked straight on to the road. I had to keep the blinds closed so didn't get any daylight. The shower was tiny, could hardly move in it and the doors didn't close right so floor got soaked Only used the pool once as the ladies changing area was under maintenance and only one disabled loo for everyone to use to get changed in so had to queue and leave stuff on a chair at the poolside. Rooms and corridors were very dated and could be doing with a paint. Breakfast was really good, a great choice and plenty of it. Parking has to be validated in the hotel reception as it is a private carpark and I noticed a few people struggling to find a space and having to leave, presumably had to pay for parking in town.

booked a spa session for 4 for my daughter’s 30th birthday. Total disappointment. Pool out of order due to filter Couldn’t get cocktails as no ingredients Couldn’t get seat for evening meal till 8.30 waited a further 2 hour to get served Couldn’t get breakfast till 10.15 by that time continental breakfast not restocked nothing left Cooked breakfast items missing from order Absolutely terrible experience. Would not use again. Emailed management on Monday still no response. Avoid
