Telford Golf And Spa Resort

Nice hotel in a nice location. If you're a golfers it's ideal. The rooms are a little dated and are in need of updating throughout. The reception were extremely helpful and the food was excellent. The bar staff were very good but the brain staff were lacking. Over 4 mornings I had to wait for at least one item of the breakfast buffet and they didn't seemed bothered. Overall it was a nice hotel but a 3/5 at best

I went for a solo spa break on a Sunday. I definitely wouldn’t class it as a ‘spa break’ as it was advertised. The pool was so noisy with teenagers messing about and splashing. It’s nice to see children having a great time but when I was expecting a spa experience it was very disappointing. There’s no jacuzzi or hot tub. The sauna was nice but the steam room was very disappointing, hardly warm in there. The view of the ceiling while lying on the heated beds could have been much better. I lay on there looking up to a ceiling with the paint coming away from there. That is easily sorted with paint or even better with something relaxing to look at. My room was lovely. Nothing bad to say about the room. The food was very over priced. £22.50 for pie, mash and a bit of veg and £12 for a brownie 😮. Overall the staff were lovely and I had a comfortable stay. The rest of my stay I think it’s fair to say that I won’t be returning.

Room 710 in the Darby Suite was intolerably hot leading to two sleepless nights affecting the whole of our stay. We were told by reception that the room couldn’t have air conditioning as it was in a listed part of the building. Our internet search identified specialist companies for installing A/C in listed buildings !! Suggested mitigation by staff included adjusting studs on windows to open them further - management subsequently confirmed this was not possible. A suggestion was made to move to another room if available, but working A/C not guaranteed. A second fan in the room created too much noise for good sleeping. Simply, staff were unable/ not really interested in providing conditions for the advertised ( on every key card ) A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP - surely a necessity for every guest ! We felt fobbed off in our communication with staff on reception.
