Buckatree Hall Hotel

Looks half decent on the outside but my word inside is incredibly outdated and poorly kept. Got to my room and discovered shower didn’t work. It had only about 5% of the pressure of a weak shower to a point that it would trickle back down the hose onto the wall. Went to reception and although the guy was apologetic and tried to help, but looked like he had seen it all before too many times and that the problem would remain unresolved. While I was out, They sent in a plumber who Happened to be there due the same issue with other rooms, so When I got back from meal, I was told that ‘they played around with it and “think” it now works’??? Low and behold it does not work which is a shame after a hot and sweaty day of labour in the baking sun. I then took a closer look and discovered mould on the taps and shower head. My colleagues door did not lock and so had to take all his items and take them to meal with him due to not trusting leaving them in the room with the dodgey feeling in the hotel. We both asked for different rooms but they claimed to have none despite the silent and completely lifeless atmosphere amongst the 80 odd rooms so I would put £100 down that they had spare rooms but are aware that they are in unacceptable condition. After reading other reviews and scouring the room out of fear of other things I hadn’t noticed earlier, it wasn’t too bad apart from dirty unclean balcony and the long leg thin spiders in every corner of room and rips on the carpet. Of the two single beds One bed is hard as nails and the other bed has springs as weak as candy floss to a point where breathing makes the mattress wobble so it’s a lose lose for my back. Lights constantly flickering on and off. WiFi doesn’t work. Had better experiences in rooms above local boozers for £20 with a shared bathroom.

Good for the price, current owners took over on November & know it needs work. Could do with some updating but decent sized twin room with a mini balcony (wasn't expecting that). Can see some wear but is clean & comfortable. TV has working netflix too. Friendly guy on reception, lounge/ bottle bar available although no food. Also reception said they are getting rid of parking company! For £50 for a twin room with en suite and balcony it was great

Filthy room. Broken bathroom light, broken bed. Food smeared on the wardrobe. Hairs in the bed. Cobwebs and dead spiders all over. Filthy headboard. Kitchen closed ao no breakfast and the lift is out of action too. The staff didn't care and just said if you want a refund take it up with booking.com. It absolutely stunk too. Ended up forking out an extra £161 for a two night stay somewhere else. Something I couldn't afford. And now I am short for my rent
