The Manor House & Golf Club

Just stayed here for my birthday weekend. A beautiful hotel in a stunning location. We had one of the cottages, it was lovely, cosy and clean. The staff were excellent. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The Manor house is a beautiful 16th century building that serves delicious food, and has a good variety of drinks and stunning views of the surrounding countryside and sea. Location: Excellent - It’s only a 5 min walk to the beach. - The village itself is beautiful and has so much character. - Rating: 5/5 Check-In: - Opens at 16:00 - Jordan was friendly, professional and very helpful. - The whole process was fast and smooth. - Rating: 5/5 The Room: Double with Seaview - The room is small, but this is to be expected in a 16th century building. - The bathroom is very small and can be a challenge for elderly and larger people. Especially using the toilet and shower. - Smart TV: No (Normal TV) - Complimentary Water: Yes - Complimentary Biscuits: Yes - Complimentary Tea & Coffee: Yes - Iron & Board: Yes - Hairdryer: Yes - Fridge: No - Blackout Blind: No - Safe: No - Full Length Mirror: No - Air Conditioning: No, but there is a fan - Pillows: Comfortable - Mattress: Comfortable - Bedding: Good quality - Towels: Good Quality - Shower: The water was hot & the pressure was very good. - Storage: Okay - If like me, your height is greater than 6 feet, your feet may hang out the end of the bed. - Price per room per night: £68 (Excludes Breakfast) - Rating: 5/5 - Note: If you can, I highly recommend you book a room with Seaview as it’s beautiful. The Gardens: - If you’re looking for a typical English country pub garden, look no further! - The views are incredible! - The gardens are well-maintained: There are many beautiful trees, plants and flowers. - From the garden, we also some beautiful horses grazing and playing 🤗 - Rating: 5/5 Dinner: - Fish and Chips - Crispy batter, tender fish, good flavour. The triple cooked chips were delicious! Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. - For the price, it would be nice to have a few more mushy peas. - Portion size: Good - Price: £17:50 - Rating: 5/5 - Moules-Frites with white wine and garlic cream - The mussels were cooked perfectly and the white wine and garlic sauce was delicious. - It would be great if they served some bread with this dish so you could dip it in the sauce. - Portion size: Good - Price: £18.50 - Rating: 5/5 - Triple Cooked Chips - They were delicious! Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. - Portion size: Small, considering the price. - Price: £5.50 - Rating: 5/5 WIFI in the room - The WI-Fi was so bad I wasn’t able to attend an important video call meeting. - I couldn’t even connect to Google. - Terrible! - Rating: 1/5 Breakfast: - If you want breakfast, you need to place your order the previous day. - Price per person: £12.50 - Unfortunately, I forgot to place my order, so we were unable to experience the breakfast. Check-Out - The system was down - Jordan, please respond to my email. - Rating: TBC Would I stay here again, Yes - As long as I didn’t have a video call. Overall Rating: 4/5 Additional Notes My ratings take into consideration the price paid and the fact it’s a 16th Century building. A Special Thank you to Jordan for helping me ensure my parents enjoyed their stay. He checked in guests, escorted them to their room, gave a brief orientation of the hotel, served drinks, food and collected the empty plates and glasses. A lot of work for one person. One point to note: Whilst escorting guests to their room, guests were kept waiting at the bar from 5 to 10 mins. Not ideal.

Looking for a venue for friends to share a gourmet lunch. The Manor House offered a restricted bar menu, unsuitable for our requirement. Spectacular setting, service, building and gardens. We had lunch ... main of Cod Fillet and Lamb Rump, bottle of Pinot Gris. Plates cold and food warm. Cheese Board was four slithers of cheese and biscuits @ £18 very disappointing. Pinot Gris (shop price £12.79) offered at £50 with 13.5% service charge. I'm sure the catering staff could do better. Lunch for two at £175.93 was not good value for money.
