Windsor Guest House

Fantastic base for our city break. Highly recommend!!

Scam hotel Sharp practice with huge service charge not explained when booking. Scruffy rooms, and overpriced too Honestly avoid if you want a feel good stay in Bath

My parents booked this for a family gathering so there were 8 of us in total, staying in 5 rooms. I stayed in Walcot on the top floor at the rear of the building. It had lovely views of the hills around the city. My bed was extremely comfortable and I had everything I needed. The air con was good, keeping the room nice and cool in the 35 degrees C heatwave, it was good having the mini fridge as well. Another review mentioned the AC not working but I asked in advance and was told it has all been serviced and is fully working, just take note that a couple of rooms don't have AC. The hot water takes a bit of time to reach the top floor and the shower was on the small side, but perfectly reasonable. The final flight of stairs up to the top floor is a little steeper and narrower so when I spoke to them a few days before we arrived, they kindly suggested changing my parents, who are in their 80s, to a room on the 2nd floor. The breakfast was very good, with options other than a full English. Our room booking ended up being quite complicated with adding on a room and various members of my family paying for different bits like £15 for late check out at 1.30pm. But they were very accommodating with dealing with us all! The location was excellent and we ate at the Ponte Vecchio, which is only a couple of minutes walk and the food was delicious. If you are used to modern hotels with luxury fittings and 24 hour service this might not be for you but I loved staying on the iconic Great Pultney Street and the traditional decor, all in all, I would recommend.
