Pontins Sandbay Holiday Park - Adult Only

Having read some of the reviews on Sand Bay, I was wary about going. We went for a mid week break with GN Holidays. Check in was easy. The site was generally tidy. Our chalet was clean and the bed comfortable. Although the chalet was basic, it was adequate for our stay as we were out most of the time attending the activities or watching the entertainment. Food at breakfast and evening was varied and good and wholesome. There was plenty of it. Don't expect restaurant standard food! Staff were friendly. The entertainment venue was good but tended to get hot as the evening progressed. The site could benefit from modernisation but it was adequate for our stay. Would we go again - Yes. It was good value for money.

Returned today from a GN Holiday break, entertainment great. We upgraded to a club chalet which had been refurbished, in bathroom no toilet roll holder or towel rail. We reported it to the reception and the same day they did give us a toilet roll holder and a towel ring, how can you dry towels on this? No shelves in bathroom to put anything, no where in the shower to put toiletries etc. main problem was lack of water pressure on Tuesday and Friday morning which prevented us from having a shower. Now on to the food, all frozen and processed, cheap and nasty. I ended up with a salad every night as the hot food was not appetising and very bland. The staff were very miserable and not helpful.

We were there for a competition that took over the complex so room was only used to sleep in Rooms are not big and not clean we had dead flies on window sills the tea spoons were dirty marks over the walls but the bedding was clean and bed comfortable the lights that are outside chalets need to have switches in the rooms to enable guests to switch them off No fridges in rooms to keep anything cool gluten free food was only curry or salad and then the cucumber was frozen
