ibis Styles Bournemouth

Me and my partner stayed at ibis Styles Bournemouth and when I booked this hotel last year 2025 I was staying in the hotel and I spoke to a receptionist to ask for a accessible room and he said he made sure the room will be accessible for a wheelchair. Then I called another 2 times and both the 2 receptionist confirmed it was a wheelchair accessible room. However when we got there on our first night we got given a normal room. The lift is to small for a wheelchair and beeps when you try to use if due to weight restrictions. We broght this to receptionist attention as this wasn't the room I booked and they said there was no notes on the reservation and arranged to move room the next day that they did do however it was a room downgrade to what i booked and I only got £60 back however I feel like if I booked the normal dobble room I would of saved more instead of the superior and that £60 isnt enough. I feel like this was unacceptable. As I am a wheelchair user I need to use a ramp amd housekeeping kept on blocking the ramp with big and heavy blue bins blocking the ramp this happened daily due to this i had to have a extended wait to get into the building. There is also a gap on the ramp to the door. In person and on my photo included the gap looks small however for a wheelchair the wheels can't get over the gap and is difficult to get into the building. Them issues need to be addressed as the experience for a wheelchair user is very bad and wheelchair access is nearly non existent and feel like housekeeping have no regard for the ramp as it's blocked daily I have included pictures of the issues. I want these issues resolved as I am very reluctant to book again with this hotel due to this experience. We also had housekeeping put dirty sheet on our bed after servicing it as it had stains on it. And when I reported it housekeeping already left and we had to change it ourselves and this was a issue due to my disabilities.

The hotel's location is its biggest advantage, with the beach and pier just a short walk away. We booked two rooms: a family room and a double room for one person. The family room was a disappointment. It was noticeably smaller than the double room and was poorly decorated. The photos on the hotel's website make the rooms look modern, spacious, and well presented, but the reality was completely different. Don't be fooled by the pictures—they don't accurately reflect what you'll get. Clean towels and cosmetics were provided which was great and they smelled lovely. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience was disappointing. Breakfast was by far the biggest letdown. There was very little variety, the scrambled eggs were bland and tasteless, and basic hot breakfast items such as sausages and baked beans repeatedly ran out and weren't replenished on time. The breakfast service appeared to be poorly managed, which made for a frustrating start to the day. Another odd experience was seeing signs advertising ice cream and gelato throughout the hotel, only for a member of staff to have no idea whether they were actually available. To make matters worse, guests are charged £15 per night for overnight parking. Charging paying guests such a high fee for parking felt unreasonable and left a negative final impression. Overall, while the location is excellent, the poor breakfast, lack of staff knowledge, and expensive parking mean we wouldn't choose to stay here again.
