Royal Bath Hotel Bournemouth

I cannot think of one single positive to say about this hotel. We were there from 8pm until 8am - purposely avoiding any need to be in this place for anything other than sleeping after we quickly discovered how uninviting this hotel is. The hotel is very clearly understaffed and the staff they do have, lack any service skills. Check in process was painful with no one informing us in advance that you cannot access rooms by lift. Rooms without windows but instead an aggressively bright 'fake skylight' meaning you wake up with no idea what time of day it actually is. The whole place is a fire hazard, with non compliant fire safety doors, cables hanging out of walls and broken plug sockets. Room service is non existent - I asked for a bath floor mat (no one wants to step out of a shower on to a dirty floor) and the receptionist responded as if I had demanded a red carpet rolled out for my arrival. The valet parking service that is offered is a shambles, with concierge leaving cars there for 15+ minutes resulting in the drop off area completely backing up into the single lane main road. Not acceptable for those with accessibility issues. I have never stayed anywhere that has made me feel so uncomfortable. After speaking with local residents I was horrified to learn of the stories they hear that happen in that hotel and that the owner is aware yet makes no changes. I was not surprised. The hotel staff made no effort to ensure guests can feel safe, with people sleeping on sofas in the lobby, and the smell of cannabis throughout the hotel. We saw 2 people arrive on separate occasions - looking for a 'a room that they needed right away' We later learnt that this hotel has a reputation for rooms being booked for an hour... Anyone planning to stay here - I cannot recommend against it enough. There are other options less than a minute away. The local taxis are cheap, reliable and id much rather rely on those than endure even an hour at this hotel.

This hotel has good points and bad points the room was quite spacious but also old fashioned needs a refurb, bathroom was lovely. Now during the summer when it’s hot it’s absolutely roasting couldn’t even dry my hair as the room was just draining all my energy definitely needs air con. The rest of the hotel was nice lovely gardens. I wouldn’t stay here again as the room temperature was quite unbearable.

I had a awful room very small for a double and when returned to my room it was inundated with wasps hing everywhere The lovely lovely reception man in the evening swapped my room and helped make my stay a lovely one tha ks very much to the gentleman who works there that helped me find my room and tha k yiy for your amazing help
