Travelodge Bournemouth

There is very little on site parking. The accommodation is good but very basic, no opening windows and no aircon. Our room was not clean and the bin contents were left from the previous guest which included their leftover takeaway. On a hot day this made our room smell terrible and took a while to get the smell out once we checked in and found it.

it’s a lovely hotel don’t get me wrong, comfy bed, lovely room with a bath and a shower, and short walk to the sea, although, i paid for breakfast £20+ prepaid for breakfast. im new to getting hotel as im only 19. it wasn’t advertised anywhere that breakfast closed at 10am i asked for a refund and got rejected for that. i’m sorry but who goes to a hotel and wakes up before 10am..? but yeah

The approach to the hotel is decent. When we arrived we had a complimentary early check in and although I’d been in touch the person I spoke to didn’t bother to make notes of our early arrival so we weren’t expected and only 1 room was available which simply wasn’t suitable as it was tiny and I’m disabled and it was on the 4th floor. Thankfully a young man on reception offered us a different room on the ground floor but I do not understand why we weren’t offered this originally. The room itself. Well it was looking onto the car park so we had to have curtains closed as people walking by kept looking in !! Maybe frosted windows would have been a good option for this type of room and because the room was painted grey it made the room dull and dark. The room was sizeable which was a bonus. There was not enough tea making things, only 2 very small cartons of milk, no sweeteners and although you could get these from reception perhaps there should have been ample in the first place. Because we have a dog we always bring our own bedding. In removing the hotels bedding a duvet was quite heavily stained. It is great to have a TV in the room but they are extremely small. We have decided, after several Travel Lodge stays that it is time for a change.
