I arrived at The Village, after a very traumatic experience at Travel Lodge, and in distress.
The lady who greeted me at the desk was amazing. Her name was Katy. Katy listened to my story and she went out of her way to help me and book my husband and I a room and sent me off to bed to rest. Katy made me feel so much better, and calmer. She then had interactions with my husband when he arrived and was again very helpful and appeared to genuinely care.
We ended up needing to extend out stay, and both Katy and a male member of staff were very good at accommodating us and very helpful.
We used the hotels facilities in-between hospital visits, and the food very nice. Chris the barman was really good at getting us a little table during a world cup game, despite us not booking. He was a very friendly barman and welcoming.
Our room was lovely, comfortable bed and comfortable large pillows. Very good shower. And had working air con which was a god send during that week!
If we ever have a need to be in Christchurch again, we would not hesitate in booking our stay at The Village.
Thank you Katy for the kindness you showed me, I will never forget this.

Stayed for 1 night 6th June. Plenty of space in car park. Checked in with lady reception clerk at 330pm, very pleasant, made to feel welcome. Allocated room 207 which looked like it has been redecorated. Everything clean and tidy. Air con functional and bathroom clean. Coffee and tea in room, could have done with a few more milks. Didnt have dinner or tea at the hotel. But did visit the leisure centre. Polite staff member explained everything and was given a locker key and towel. Used all facilities. Everything perfect. If i was to say anything for the hotel management to look at would be the cleanliness of the changing rooms as most is open plan. Floor was wet, rubbish on floor. And a shaving blade on the shower floor but this was mentioned on check out of the leisure centre and the man on duty said he would sort immediately. Will definitely return, hopefully for my 5th visit.
