Bessemer Hotel

I would like to express my sincere thanks to Michael for the outstanding service he provided during my stay. As a disabled guest, the little things can make a huge difference, and Michael went above and beyond to understand and accommodate my needs. He didn’t just do his job—he took the time to listen, showed genuine care, and made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. His kindness, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile made me feel valued as a customer rather than just another guest. It’s rare to come across someone so dedicated to providing excellent customer service. Please pass on my gratitude and recognition to Michael. He is a real credit to your hotel and an excellent example of the high standard of service every guest hopes to receive. Also a big thank you to the rest of the staff I had the pleasure to meet, reception staff, night staff and the cleaner. All was helpful.

Used this as a last minute stay, due to the location being close enough to the Brecon Beacons to get there in the morning. It did the job as far as we had a room with beds to sleep in for the night. The hotel in general is quite dated, but clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful. Didn't try the food so can't comment on it. Unfortunately there were a few things that weren't great. The door didn't have a lock the worked and the safety chain was missing. The floor in every room is incredibly creaky, so if anyone is moving around in their room you can hear it, making sleeping difficult. The doors all slam shut which very disturbing when guests come back to their rooms late.

Unfortunately I’m having to right this review as the problem was not resolved after multiple contact with the hotel. At 4 in the morning I felt itchy under my arm ( thankfully I turned on the light to check what was the cause… infestation of bed bugs!!!! I called reception immediately and they promptly moved me to the next room, however all we could hear was noise from the previous room, obviously they were moving the furniture around to asses the situation. Already feeling uncomfortable with what later I found to be multiple bites on me and my partner we could not settle as constant noise till around 7:30 in the morning. I was given no alternative option, no refund, nothing. I got a light sorry when I went to hand my key card in. I’ve been in contact multiple times, I’ve not been rude I’ve been extremely calm considering this awful experience. I didn’t want to do this review as I wanted to give the hotel a chance to resolve this however there has been no contact made whatsoever. If by 24 hours I’m contacted either through booking.com or on trip advisor with a solution to this then I will happy delete this review.
